5G Base-Station & Communication Castings

Overview

Modern 5G infrastructure imposes contradictory demands: massive heat dissipation, sub-millimeter precision, low weight and EMC integrity. Our communication castings answer all four. Manufactured from aluminum alloy, they deliver excellent mechanical stability while maintaining stable signal transmission and minimising interference losses.

Compact, integrated geometries accommodate multiple board cavities; cast-in cooling fins provide up to 1,800 cm² of dissipative surface in a single shot. Specialised post-processing — chromate-free passivation, EMC-grade conductive plating, and selective masking for sealing surfaces — ensures every part is field-ready.

Engineered for the field, not the lab

Outdoor radio units cycle from −40 °C to +65 °C every day. Our process control is tuned for that reality: ADC12 alloy with optimized Fe content for die life, controlled cooling for fine grain structure, and stress-relief at 165 °C to prevent dimensional drift in service.

For antenna decorative covers, we provide PVD-finished casting partners for premium silver, gold and black-chrome appearances that satisfy aesthetic spec sheets from European telecom OEMs.

Typical applications

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you achieve fin pitches below 2 mm?

Yes — down to 1.5 mm pitch with 3:1 aspect ratio reliably. Tighter pitches available with extrusion + brazed fin partner.

Do you provide conductive surface finishes?

Yes: chromate-free conductive passivation (RoHS-compliant) with surface resistance ≤ 5 mΩ. Used by multiple tier-1 telecom OEMs.

What's the lead time for a complete AAU heat-sink program?

Tooling 35 days + sample 10 days + PPAP 14 days. Typically SOP at week 12 from drawing approval.
